| Abstract | We used in situ phytoplankton diagnostic pigments to fit an algorithm to retrieve Phytoplankton Size Classes (PSCs) from chlorophyll-a. This regional algorithm was then applied to satellite data to analyze the seasonal and spatial variability of PSCs in the South Brazil Bight (SBB). Our results showed that this method could be an important tool for understanding the ecological dynamic of the SBB, and that the algorithm should be improved further. |
